Beitou Plum Garden Courtyard Reopened from Renovation

On June 27, Beitou Plum Garden reopened to the public following courtyard renovations.

Organized by Taipei City Government Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT), the Plum Garden Concert will be held at 3 PM every Saturday in July and August at the courtyard of Beitou Plum Garden. The agency invited Taipei Symphony Orchestra and MASA band for classical music concert to perform at these occasions. To promote local snacks, the agency also set up booths serving these delicacies.

TPEDOIT City Tourism Division Chief Wang Shi-jia noted that Beitou Plum Garden had been closed for courtyard renovation since January and reopened on June 27. The agency plans to hold courtyard concert every Saturday afternoon in July and August and invites locals to come and enjoy the relaxing music.

Taipei City Councilor Wu Si-yao pointed out that the courtyard lawn was too steep before the renovation; the renewed lawn offers easier access. Taipei City Councilor Wang Wei-chung hoped that the garden will help promote Beitou’s tourism and stimulate local business.

The first Plum Garden Concert took place at 3 PM on June 27, attracting many visitors. In addition to the concert, the agency also set up booths serving local snacks. At 2:30 PM, the first 50 visitors received a voucher for a free snack. The available snacks include black tea, Caozaiguo (草仔粿), shaved ice, tofu pudding, and Beitou Tankan Cake.
