In addition to free admission on the day of the event, Deputy Mayor Huang Shan-shan also joined young audience members in the “cleansing” of dark bacterial evils with water guns, symbolizing the success of Taiwan’s fight against COVID-19, as well as sending a message to all kids and adults to practice correct handwashing techniques.
According to Taipei Water Department, the slogan for this year’s event is “Fun and Playful with All Your Heart.” In addition to enjoying playing with water, all the water used inside the facility come from the neighboring Gongguan Water Purification Plant, thanks to the fact that Taipei Water Park is operated by the Taipei Water Department.
Thanks to this affiliation, Taipei Water Park is able to change its pool water on a daily basis. Furthermore, staff members examine the water each hour to ensure the quality and safety of pool water, in the interest of safeguarding users’ health.
The Water Department stimulates the interest of vistors with attractions such as kids paddle boat and drinking fountains with Taipei Water logos. These are great spots for visitors to grab a selfie.
Furthermore, the organizers introduced a smartphone game “Bravo: Hot and Thirsty.” Those who play the game before the end of July will have a chance to win a NT$7500 convenient store voucher in a raffle!
