Traffic Advisory for Taipei Nuit Blanche 2023

The 2023 Taipei Nuit Blanche is set to begin with festivities, scheduled from 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th to 6 a.m. the following day. The event will take place at various locations, including the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Taipei City Council, Taipei City Hall, and City Hall Square. The Taipei City Police Department aims to maintain traffic order around the event venue, and has orchestrate relevant control measures. The traffic control information is listed as follows:


1. Time: From 12 p.m. on October 7th to 9a.m. the next day (subject to change)


2. Road Closures: The following roads will be closed from vehicular traffic

  • City Hall Road (from Songgao Road to Songshou Road)
  • The northern part of Ren'ai Road Section 4, including the slow traffic lane and express lane (from Guangfu South Road to Yixian Road)
  • Yixian Road (from Songgao Road to Ren'ai Road)
  • Lane 1 of the road (from Ren'ai Road Section 4 to Songshou Road)


3. Suggested or Alternative Routes:

  • For east to west crosstown traffic, alternative routes are listed as follows: Nanjing East Road, Heping East Road, Yongji Road, and Bade Road
  • For north to south crosstown traffic, alternative routes are listed as follows: Jianguo South (North) Road, Dunhua South (North) Road, and Songshan Road


4. Other Traffic Control Measures Related to the Event:

  • Buses: Bus routes passing through the affected areas during the control period will be rerouted. For details, please check the Taipei City Public Transportation Office (http://www.pto.gov.taipei/) or Department of Traffic (http://www.dot.gov.taipei/) websites.
  • Motorcycle Parking Spaces within Controlled Zone: Motorcycle parking spaces on City Hall Road (from Songgao Road to Songshou Road), the northern side of Ren'ai Road Section 4 (from Guangfu South Road to City Hall Road), Yixian Road (from Songgao Road to Ren'ai Road Section 4), and the northern side of Zhongxiao East Road Section 4 (from Feitie Road to Guangfu South Road) will be prohibited from parking from 12 p.m. on October 7th to 6 a.m. the next day. Vehicles not in compliance will be relocated or towed.
  • Extended Metro Services: The Taipei Metro will extend its one-way service until 3 a.m. on October 8th, with additional services being added as needed. Passengers can board and alight at Taipei City Hall Station, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station, and Taipei 101/ World Trade Center Station. Along other stations on the route, passengers may only alight but cannot board the train (https://www.metro.taipei/).


People are strongly advised to utilize public transportation. In addition, Police Broadcasting Service will provide real-time traffic updates, so please stay tuned. Lastly, please plan your trips in advance, follow police guidance to avoid congestions.
