Traffic Control Measures for 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival
The 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival will be held at Meilun and Xuangxi Riverside parks and sections of Jihe Rd in Shilin district from February 11 to 20, 2022. The opening ceremony will commence at 7 p.m., February 12, at the Jihe and Danan roads intersection, and it is expected to attract a great number of citizens to the venue. In order to maintain traffic order and safeguard civilian safety during the event, the TCPD will be implementing the following traffic control measures:
The TCPD will like to remind eventgoers that all parking spaces adjacent the festival venue have been temporarily cancelled, and measures against illegal parking will be strictly enforced for the entire duration of the event. In order to prevent traffic jams from dampening the festive mood, it is advised that citizens take the MRT to the nearby Jiantan, Shilin or Zhishan stations, where a leisurely walk should bring you to the event location without too much trouble.
For those who wish to instead make use of the bus system, please refer to the Taipei City Public Transportation Office’s website at (http://www.pto.gov.taipei/) to catch up on the latest changes to nearby bus routes. Finally, citizens who wish to drive to the event should tune in regularly to the Police Broadcasting Service’s traffic situation updates, and adjust driving routes accordingly. Adherence to the guidance of on-site traffic police and volunteers is also strictly advised in order to maintain traffic safety and smooth road conditions.
