From October 7th to October 10th, the 112th National Day Holiday is set to begin. Because a significant influx of people and vehicular traffic during the holiday was perceived, in an effort to maintain orderly traffic, the TCPD has planned out a comprehensive traffic management strategy.

Firstly, on the eve of the National Day Holiday (October 6th), there will be 100 additional traffic control posts at major intersections across the city, e.g. Zhongxiao West Road and Zhongshan North Road. Officers are required to arrive at the aforementioned posts earlier than usual shifts by 4 p.m. In addition, the rest of the intersections will have officers present by 4:30 p.m. We kindly ask all drivers to cooperate with police officers and traffic enforcement agents.

Secondly, on Saturday, October 7th, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon), southbound National Freeway 1 will face high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) restrictions. There are 8 HOV locations in the city, including: 

1. The southbound ramp of the Chongqing North Road Interchange
2. The ramp of the Minzu East Road and Songjiang Road
3. The southbound ramp of the Binjiang Street (Dajia Elementary School)
4. The northbound exit ramp of the Minquan East Road, Jianguo Elevated Road
5. The southbound ramp of the Huanhe North Road
6. The southbound ramp of the Section 2, Chenggong Road Interchange
7. The southbound ramp of the Gangqian Rd., and Tiding Blvd., Xizhi-Wugu Elevated Road Interchange
8. The southbound ramp of the Section 2, Jiuzong Rd., Xizhi-Wugu Elevated Road Interchange

Aiming at ensuring smooth vehicular traffic at the aforementioned HOV locations, the TCPD has meticulously orchestrate traffic control measures. People are strongly advised to be mindful of the controlled locations, timing and exercise safe driving.

Furthermore, the TCPD has deployed additional traffic control posts near various tourist attractions, e.g. Yangming mountain, Taipei Zoo, Children’s Amusement Park, Maokong Gondola, department stores, and commercial districts to enhance traffic order. People planning to visit these places are strongly advised to use public transportation or shuttle services.

Lastly, the TCPD will intensify its illegal parking enforcement in areas prone to congestions throughout the city. Drivers are advised to stay tuned to the Police Broadcasting Service for traffic updates and to abide the guidance of officers and traffic enforcement agents, thereby collectively preserving public safety and travel efficiency.
