The drug enforcement task force officers of the Zhongzheng First Precinct, TCPD discovered 9 packets of amphetamines, a batch of burner pipes, and an electronic scale in a raid on a drug-infested free-for-all for migrant workers in Wugu district, New Taipei City. After police interrogation, the drug dealer suspect was charged with violation of Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act and then transferred to the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further investigation and prosecution.
To begin with, TCPD officers received a tip that a drug dealer sold and distributed amphetamines, a class-II drug, to migrant workers in Wugu District, New Taipei City, and later established a joint task force with the New Taipei City Specialized Operation Brigade, National Immigration Agency. After meticulous investigation within the proximity of the suspect’s rental apartment, a late-night free-for-all among the migrant workers, the joint task force concluded that not only the suspect sold drug to migrant workers, but also recruited members to distribute drugs.
Eventually, the suspect’s rental apartment was searched by the joint task force with a search warrant authorized by the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors Office on Oct 16th 2023. A series of evidence were discovered and seized, including 9 packets of amphetamines, a batch of burner pipes, and an electronic scale. The drug dealer suspect was charged with violation of Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act and then transferred to the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further investigation and prosecution.
TCPD highlighted the importance of drug enforcement since drug abuse is the root of all evil. Therefore, police crackdown on drugs are crucial and will remain prevalent. TCPD strongly advised that fending off drug abuse is the only way to lead a healthy lifestyle.
