Work begun or completed on all Universiade venues slated for renovation

Of the 60 Universiade venues for Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade, 53 will be renovated, two will be newly built, and five will be non-renovated. As of February 6th , 2017, renovation contracts had been awarded by tender for all 53 existing venues that require renovation and 35 of them have already been completed. Renovation project is underway at the remaining venues and is expected to be completed by the end of April this year. The construction of the two new venues, the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium and Taipei Tennis Center, is expected to be completed in March and April, respectively.

Under the management of Taipei City Government, all the venues will be completed on time and present athletes with first-class venues that meet international competition standard. Also, it will allow more than 12,000 competitors from 150 countries to perform at their maximum potential under the best environment. After the Games, all renovation venues in each city will be an asset to schools and local governments.
