Summer Showcase for Wedding Services, Products Takes Place on June 28

Mayor attending the opening event of the Taipei Wedding Shopping FestivalThe 2020 Taipei Summer Wedding Shopping Festival kicked-off at Taipei Expo Park’s Expo Dome on June 28. The event spotlights merchandise and services ranging from wedding gowns to wedding photography to wedding jewelry.
During his address at the opening event, Mayor Ko Wen-je cited a Department of Civil Affairs report indicating that a total of 605 couples completed their marriage registration on May 20, 2020. This is the highest number for the past 5 years, showing that marriages are unstoppable especially with auspicious dates and strong relationship.
Regarding Taipei’s wedding industry, the mayor praised the gowns and attires to be of top quality and affordable. He also pointed out strengths such as talented designers and outstanding professional photographers. In the interest of promoting the industry and to assist citizens who are preparing for weddings, Taipei City Government joined hands with businesses to organize this convenient one-stop-shopping event which also comes with numerous deals.
Chairman Kao Chih-jung of Taipei City Wedding Professionals Association (TCWPA) pointed out that Taiwan’s wedding industry is competitive on the global stage, having invested heavily over the years. The pandemic has created a huge disruption upon wedding businesses, as the number of foreign newlyweds visiting Taiwan for related services has effectively dropped to zero. Now, with the loosening of restrictions for domestic travel, he called out to couples looking into weddings to seize this opportunity and experience the expert service provided by wedding professionals.
Exhibition goers have a chance to win vouchers up to NT$10,000 which is usable at the venue, as well as prizes such as CZ ring, disinfectant spray, crystal pen, and more! There are even additional purchase deals such as bespoke suites, wedding gowns and family portrait, as well as raffle opportunities to win home appliances.
